Number of Hoosiers Fully Vaccinated Surpasses Number of COVID-19 Cases

A year after Indiana reported its first COVID-19 case, the number of Hoosiers fully vaccinated against the virus has now surpassed the number of cases. Almost 678,000 Hoosiers are now considered fully vaccinated, according to Saturday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. More than 1.1 million have gotten at least one dose.

More than 4,500 Marshall County residents are fully vaccinated, along with almost 1,600 in Starke County and over 1,500 in Pulaski County. The number of first doses is approaching 6,500 for Marshall County, more than 3,000 for Starke County, and almost 2,300 for Pulaski County. Almost 4,100 Hoosiers got the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday, according to state health officials, the first day of a four-day mass vaccination clinic.

Hoosiers age 50 and older can sign up for the vaccine at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
