Indiana Reports Smallest Single-Day Increase in COVID-19 Cases in Six Months

Indiana is reporting its smallest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases in six months. Another 480 cases were reported in Monday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the state’s total to almost 668,000.

Another five Hoosiers have died. Those deaths were spread out between February 25 and March 7. That brings the total number of confirmed deaths to 12,315. Locally, Starke County reported two more cases, while Marshall County had one.

At least one new student case has been reported at Plymouth High School, Bremen High School, LaVille Junior/Senior High School, and Culver Academies. Culver Academies also had at least one new teacher case, while Argos Junior/Senior High School had at least one new staff case.

The COVID-19 vaccine distribution continues. Almost 6,600 Marshall County residents, 3,100 Starke County residents, and 2,300 Pulaski County residents have gotten their first dose. More than 4,600 Marshall County residents, 1,600 Starke County residents, and 1,500 Pulaski County residents are fully vaccinated.
