A Goodwill Industries retail store and attended donation drive-thru will be constructed in the near future which will include a Community Career Center.
Goodwill Industries President and CEO Debie Coble stated in a press release that numerous requests were made to include a Goodwill store in the Plymouth area and it will become a reality.
The Community Career Center features a free self-help facility for anyone who would like to learn more about how to find a job. It will follow Goodwill’s mission to strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training and job placement.
It can also assist those who are employed, under-employed or unemployed. While at the facility, people can work on resumes, write cover letters and practice interview skills. There will also be workshops available at no charge, taught by Goodwill experts and corporate partners.
Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter addressed the future development in his State of the City address Monday night.
Mayor Senter stated, “As City Attorney [Sean] Surrisi and I ate lunch at Arby’s last Friday, we noticed a bulldozer parked in the empty lot east of there. Excavation and construction will soon begin on that property for a new Goodwill store and training center. I had a meeting with Goodwill Vice President of Community Engagement Guy Fisher two weeks ago. They are excited to be in town and look forward to a great community partnership.”
A Groundbreaking Ceremony to welcome the addition to Plymouth is scheduled for Tuesday, March 30 at 1:30 p.m. ET at the future location of the store in the Pilgrim Place Shopping Center along U.S. 30 between Rue 21 and Arby’s.
