Bremen Town Council Members to Consider Ordinance Amendment Dealing with Trash

Another ordinance amendment reviewed by Bremen town Council members last month deals with trash.

Town Attorney Anthony Wagner noted he is waiting on a list of items on what might be in conflict with what the waste hauler will take.  So far, grass clippings and other organic material will not be accepted as waste in garbage containers to be collected by the waste hauler.

The ordinance amendment defines garbage, trash and rubbish, solid waste, commercial incinerators, public nuisances, and lawn and garden waste.

No rubbish or trash shall be burned in containers or otherwise in the Town of Bremen.  Residents should not litter and they should not accumulate tires, weeds or rank vegetation, excessive furniture not designed for outdoor use, excessive household items, demolition remains, automobile parts, animal waste, inoperable items, matter that attracts vermin, or explosive or combustible material.

The council members may review the ordinance again when they meet on Monday, March 8 at 4:30 p.m. ET at Bremen Town Hall.
