The Bourbon Town Council members reviewed a proposed vehicle impound ordinance during their meeting last week.
Town Attorney Alex Hoover explained to the council that it contained several of the new items discussed in a previous meeting.
A person needing to get a car out of the impound lot would need to provide photo identification, proof of insurance, and pay a $20 administration fee. The Clerk’s Office would collect the fees as the employees there are bonded.
The council members approved the ordinance on the first reading. Since the ordinance includes a fee, it will need to be advertised. The council could take action on the second and third readings during their April meeting.
