The technology infrastructure will be getting an upgrade this summer at the Argos Community School Corporation.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said a company from Lafayette will be putting in new wiring, new fiber optic, switches, and other necessary infrastructure needs to keep up with the function of computers and the ability to host virtual learning.
While that project is going on, an extended summer school will allow students to catch up on work that may have slipped during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recovery services will be Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon during the month of June.
Additionally, teachers will be able to take part in a Summer Teacher Academy in an effort to catch up on training and professional development in July. Speicher said many opportunities for training and professional development were canceled due to the pandemic so this will help teachers in those efforts.
