Updated County Metrics Map Shows Continued Downward Trend in COVID-19 Positivity Rates

Starke County is the only county in the state in the blue category on the State’s County Metrics Map which shows low community spread of COVID-19.  However, the county remains in the yellow advisory level and must follow the guidelines in that advisory level.

Marshall County is in the yellow category and Pulaski County is in the orange category.  Both counties still need to adhere to guidelines in the orange advisory level.

In Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health, 1,452 more people in the state have tested positive with COVID-19 with nine of those cases in Marshall County, four new cases in Starke County, and one new case in Pulaski County.  Marshall County has a new overall total of 5,313 COVID-19 cases, Starke County has 1,825 and Pulaski County has 1,031. 

Another person has died of COVID-19 in Marshall County for a new overall total of 101 deaths in the county.  Fifty-two additional people died of COVID-19 in the state on Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, 736,504 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, including 4,626 in Marshall County, 1,935 in Starke County and 1,598 in Pulaski County.  Over 258,000 people are fully vaccinated including 1,468 in Marshall County, 314 in Starke County and 465 in Pulaski County.
