State Health Commissioner Gives Update on Eli Lilly’s COVID-19 Treatment

Eli Lilly’s antibody treatment appears to be making a difference in lowering the number of COVID-19 hospital admissions, according to State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box.

“Every week – it’s two weeks now – we get our allocation,” Box explained during Wednesday’s COVID-19 press conference. “Every bit of it goes out because all of our systems are asking for that for their infusion centers. So those individuals that are at risk and that are not hospitalized, don’t have to be on oxygen, are the perfect candidate if they have underlying co-morbidities.”

Now, she says Lilly has gotten an FDA emergency use authorization to administer both of the monoclonal antibodies together, which she says has led to improved results when it’s been done with other antibodies.
