The second in a series of three public hearings is scheduled for tonight in Argos in order for Argos, Walnut Township and Green Township residents to gather information about the potential formation of an Argos Fire Protection Territory.
A Fire Protection Territory would allow an increase in property taxes to help support the operation of the town’s EMS service.
Baker Tilly representatives will be on hand to provide financial information and other background and need information will be provided by local officials.
This will be an opportunity for residents to voice an opinion on the matter. The Argos Town Council will not reach a decision until a public meeting in March.
Tonight’s meeting is at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Argos Fire Department building. It will also be available virtually on Zoom. The link can be found here.
If residents cannot attend tonight’s meeting, a third public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the fire house.
