New COVID-19 Cases Remain Low in Tri-County Area

The latest COVID-19 report from the Indiana Department of Health shows a continued downward trend of local positive cases.

There were 13 Marshall County residents diagnosed with COVID-19 as reflected in Friday’s report, Starke County had one resident test positive, and Pulaski County had three people with positive tests.  The state reported an additional 1,445 residents who were diagnosed with COVID-19 since Wednesday. 

A total of 646,425 people in the state have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since March of last year. 

Another 86 people have died of COVID-19 bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 11,690.  The total number increases by 427 if probable deaths are included.

Residents over the age of 65, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents and first responders are encouraged to make an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.  To schedule an appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.

Over 779,000 people in the state have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine including 4,861 people in Marshall County, 2,124 people in Starke County and 1,650 in Pulaski County. Over 300,000 people in the state are fully vaccinated including 1,769 people in Marshall County, 503 people in Starke County and 696 people in Pulaski County.
