More Snow, Cold Forecast this Weekend

Up to two inches of snow is expected to fall in the area this weekend (February 13-14), accompanied by cold temperatures.  Wind chills Saturday night and into Sunday could reach between 5 and 20 degrees below zero and could last through Tuesday morning.

Officials are urging residents to prepare for cold temperatures and use care when using alternate heating sources.  When using alternate heating sources keep anything that can burn at least three feet away from heating equipment.  Use the correct type of fuel for the equipment and never refuel indoors.  Turn off portable heaters before leaving the house and before bed.  Refrain from using an oven to heat the home.

Make sure pets are supplied with adequate shelter and plenty of fresh drinking water.

A little stream of water should trickle from a faucet inside the home to prevent frozen pipes.
