The John Glenn School Board members reviewed the proposed contract for the superintendent of schools at their meeting this week.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell commented that the three-year contract remains unchanged for the most part. There was an addition of $700 to the base of the contract and a one-time $500 stipend which is in line with what the teachers and administrators in the corporation received in COVID-19 appreciation money. There was an additional $200 board donation to HSA and a term in the health insurance.
The board also covers the cost of long term disability, term life insurance, the contribution to the Indiana State Teacher’s Retirement Fund, tax-sheltered annuity, and mileage.
The superintendent gets 15 days of paid time off, 11 sick days, and five days of continuing education.
The basic salary of the superintendent is $118,700.
The entire proposed contract can be found on the John Glenn School Corporation’s website. It would take effect July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
The board members approved the contract with a unanimous vote.
