Marshall County moved to the blue status this week on the Indiana Department of Health’s County Metrics Map which means a low community spread of COVID-19. Starke County and Pulaski County are yellow which indicates a higher community spread.
The map is updated every Wednesday at noon.
Only three counties in the state are orange while others are yellow and blue.
The number of people testing positive with COVID-19 remains low with seven new cases in Marshall County, five new cases in Starke County and six new cases in Pulaski County. In Wednesday’s report from Indiana Department of Health, 1,019 people in the state were diagnosed with COVID-19.
Fourteen more COVID-19 deaths were reported statewide which raises the overall total to 12,039. The total increases by 428 if probable deaths are included.
Nearly 7.9 million tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the Indiana Department of Health since February 26, 2020.

Over 920,930 Hoosiers have received the first dose of the vaccine, and nearly 483,000 people are fully vaccinated.
In the state’s long-term care facilities update, there were 86 new resident cases of COVID-19 from October 20 to February 17, and 93 resident deaths from November 26 to February 23. Less than five of those deaths were reported at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver. No new local resident cases were listed.
