Governor Holcomb took action Friday to relax restrictions for motor carriers and drivers transporting propane in Indiana due to cold temperatures as he sees an emergency exists.
Propane delivery drivers are usually limited to the number of hours they may operate in a given day, but the governor’s actions will allow Indiana to follow what other states are doing in order to respond to propane gas demands in this extremely cold weather.
According to the Executive Order, distributors of propane in the state are beginning to experience shortages in supply and long lines at terminals. The Order states that the restriction suspension will ensure that supplies are being distributed throughout the state.
The order will remain in effect until February 28, or unless terminated by Governor Holcomb.
