A Fort Wayne woman was injured in an accident involving a passenger car and a semi at the intersection of Queen Road and U.S. 30 in Plymouth Monday afternoon.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department officers were called to the scene at 1 p.m. where a preliminary investigation reportedly found that 37-year-old Jessica R. Parker of Fort Wayne was traveling east on U.S. 30 in her 1997 Buick and struck the rear of a semi trailer traveling in the same direction driven by 52-year-old Zdzislaw Hodorowicz, of Bridgeview, Illinois. The semi was stopped or slowed at a red light shown at the intersection.
Parker was trapped inside her vehicle. She was extricated and flown to a South Bend hospital for treatment.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Indiana State Police, Plymouth Fire Department, and Knepp Wrecker Service. The Indiana State Police troopers are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
