Another Starke County Resident Dies of COVID-19

Another person in Starke County has died of COVID-19, according to Saturday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  That raises the number of COVID-19 deaths in Starke County to 51. 

The state reported 27 additional COVID-19 deaths in the state to raise the total number of deaths to 12,125. 

Marshall County saw an increase of four new cases as reflected in Saturday’s report.  Starke County had six new cases, but Pulaski County did not have any new cases. 

The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients is down to 800.  The peak was at 3,381 at the end of November.

As of Saturday, 981,769 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, including 5,845 people in Marshall County, 2,668 people in Starke County and 2,063 people in Pulaski County.  Over 552,000 people are fully vaccinated including 3,651 people in Marshall County, 1,225 people in Starke County and 1,309 people in Pulaski County.
