One more person has died of COVID-19 in Pulaski County, according to Tuesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Pulaski County is now up to 43.
There were 44 new COVID-19 deaths reported in the state in Tuesday’s report dating back to December 1, 2020. The total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state is up to 12,025. It increases by 425 if probable deaths are counted.
There were 716 additional people in the state who tested positive with COVID-19, including six people in Marshall County, one person in Starke County and one person in Pulaski County. The number of Marshall County residents testing positive with COVID-19 since March of last year is up to 5,390. It is now 1,859 in Starke County and 1,056 in Pulaski County.
The COVID-19 vaccine is now available to Indiana residents over the age of 60, healthcare workers, first responders, long-term care facility residents, and those who are most vulnerable. To make an appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.
The Indiana Department of Health will host 10 vaccine clinics in areas where there are currently no open vaccine appointments. Clinics will be open Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. this week. Those locations locally are Ivy Tech in Lake County, Ivy Tech in Michigan City, and the White County Fairgrounds in Reynolds.
In the first three hours of eligibility, over 63,000 residents from ages 60 to 64 made an appointment Tuesday to get the vaccine.
As of Tuesday, 905,236 Hoosiers have received a first dose of vaccine, and 459,603 are fully vaccinated.
