The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for northern Indiana beginning tonight (Saturday) around 7 p.m. through Sunday evening.
There is the potential for heavy snowfall in the amount of five to nine inches which will lead to hazardous driving conditions into the evening hours on Sunday.
If you must be out, leave for a destination in plenty of time and slow down when driving. Clean off snow from the car’s windshield and the headlights and taillights.
Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Clyde Avery suggests packing an emergency kit for all vehicles. The kit should consist of a mobile phone charger, extra clothing, blankets, jumper cables, tow strap, small tool kit, emergency flares, shovel, sand or kitty litter for traction, windshield scraper or brush, non-perishable food, and a first-aid kit.
