Another person has died of COVID-19 in Marshall County.
Saturday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health showed that the death occurred New Year’s Day. That pushes the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Marshall County to 78.
Marshall County also reported 83 new positive COVID-19 cases in Saturday’s report for a new overall positive case total of 4,601. Starke County had 14 new COVID-19 cases for a new cumulative total of 1,574, and Pulaski County had three new cases for a new overall total of 861.
Another 5,429 residents in the state tested positive with COVID-19 in Saturday’s report. A total of 523,090 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since March of 2020.
A total of 8,055 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19 which is an increase of 39 from Friday’s report. Another 355 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
