Marshall County Reports Another COVID-19 Death, 25% Seven-Day Positivity Rate

Another COVID-19 death has been reported in Marshall County. It occurred on New Year’s Eve, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the county’s total COVID-19 death count to 84.

Marshall County’s seven-day positivity rate remains high: 25 percent for all tests, according to the state’s calculations and almost 45 percent when limited to unique individuals. Rates are lower in Starke and Pulaski counties.

Another 23 Marshall County residents have tested positive, bringing the total to 4,720 since the pandemic began. Starke County had 14 new cases for a total of 1,631, while Pulaski County had 11 new cases, bringing the total to 901.

The state as a whole reported almost 6,200 new positive cases Friday and 69 confirmed deaths. Indiana’s total COVID-19 death count is up to almost 8,900, when probable deaths are included.
