High Interest Causes Slowdowns on Indiana’s COVID-19 Vaccine Registration Site

The number of Hoosiers trying to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine has caused slowdowns on the state’s registration systems. Registration opened up to any resident age 80 and older at 9:00 a.m. EST Friday.

But an hour later, the Indiana Department of Health reported that the system was already experiencing high volumes, which can lead to an error message or longer wait times. Those having problems are encouraged to check back later in the day.

The state says more than 53,000 people had registered by 4:00 p.m. EST Friday.

Hoosiers age 80 and older can register online at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211. Family members and caregivers may also register on their behalf.
