A company will be taking a good look at the Culver Community School Corporation’s facilities to help the school board make long-term plans for updates or repairs.
Superintendent Karen Shuman said Jim Thorn, a representative from SitelogIQ, provided documentation to the school board about what the company would look at in terms of the structural status of buildings and facilities, utilities, and equipment.
The company is based in Michigan, but Shuman explained that the company is branching into Indiana to do similar work at Benton Central and Hobart schools.
Shuman said the study would take about three months to complete.
“It kind of gives us some long-term planning and range, an understanding of what kind of what kind of things we need in the future and how long in the future those things need to be addressed,” commented Shuman.
The cost of the agreement is about $7,200 which would come from bond money. However, if the school board hires the company to do any potential projects listed in the final product, the school would not need to pay the cost.
The school board members approved the agreement with a unanimous vote.
