The Argos Community School Board members reorganized during their first meeting of the year Monday night.
Angie Smith was voted in as president, Chris O’Dell as vice president and Jennifer Hurford as secretary. Jennifer Lee was retained as treasurer.
The school board will continue to meet on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m.
One of the first actions of the school board involved the discussion around irrigation at the school corporation’s practice soccer fields. The board approved the lowest quote from TMI Lawn Sprinkler out of Goshen who will install 1,200 feet of irrigation piping and sprinkler heads. The $22,000 cost will come from project money.
Superintendent Ned Speicher commented to MAX News that discussions on the irrigation project have been ongoing for years. He said the board felt it was time to provide a proper surface for soccer players on those practice fields.
The project will get underway this spring.
