A Knox man was arrested just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday after reportedly driving the wrong way on U.S. 31 while intoxicated.

The Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call of a man driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes of U.S. 31 from State Road 110.  Another call came in when the driver reached 13th Road.

A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy conducted a traffic stop where the driver, 22-year-old Brandon Fairchild of Knox, was later transported to the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Knox for a chemical test, according to the report.  He was taken to the Marshall County Jail after tests allegedly revealed he was three times over the legal limit to be operating a vehicle.  He faces preliminary charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC of .15 or higher, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering.  He later bonded out of the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.
