A Plymouth man lost his life in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, 71-year-old Stephen Trago was traveling east in his passenger vehicle on Michigan and crossed the south lanes of U.S. 31 when he reportedly traveled into the path of a passenger car driven by 68-year-old Laura Melton from Scottsboro, Alabama as she was driving.
Both vehicles came to rest partially in the median and roadway south of the intersection, according to the report.
Trago was airlifted to a South Bend hospital where police say he died from his injuries.
Gerard and passenger, 57-year-old Joyce Gerard from Plymouth, were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth EMS and the Plymouth Fire Department.
