The National Weather Service is predicting a significant ice event New Year’s Day.
The area could receive .18 inches of ice accumulation between midnight and noon on Friday.
No advisories, watches and warnings have been issued at this time, but roads will be hazardous during this event so drivers should avoid traveling, if possible. If driving is necessary, slow down, allow extra time to reach a destination, and increase following distance.
