The completion of work on the John Glenn High School gym floor is behind schedule, but all of the material has arrived on campus.
The John Glenn School Board members agreed earlier this year to replace the gym floor following the discovery of termite damage. The floor was unsalvageable in terms of memorabilia, but work is moving along to complete the installation of the new floor and new bleachers.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell recently told the school board that several pieces of material were on back order, but they are now ready for crews to install.
The wood floor is laid down and all that is left is for the finish to be applied and cured. The graphics will be installed following that process.
The bleachers are also on site after a delay in shipping. Several pieces have been put together and they will be ready for spectators yet this basketball season.
