Gas prices are expected to continue to increase with the rising price of crude oil, according to GasBuddy.com Head of Petroleum Analysis Patrick DeHaan.
DeHaan stated that crude oil prices are at the highest level since COVID-19 began in March. He anticipates that 2021 will be a pandemic recovery year which will bring increased demand which will drive prices. A 2021 Fuel Price Outlook is coming out in the next few days which will allow drivers to take a peek into how gas prices will affect pocketbooks.
The national average price of gasoline has risen 0.7 cents per gallon in the last week with the average at $2.25 a gallon Monday. Information from Gasbuddy.com indicated that the national average is up 13.8 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 32.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
