Downtown Plymouth Building Fire Investigation Complete

The investigation into a fire at a downtown Plymouth building is complete.

Firefighters from multiple departments were called to 201 North Michigan Street at around 5:15 p.m. Saturday evening after a maintenance person called to report a fire.

Firefighters from Plymouth, LaPaz, Bremen, Argos, and Culver were eventually called to the scene. Firefighters were still there more than two hours after the fire was reported.

Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller commented that the fire was extinguished quickly and no injuries were reported.

Miller said the State Fire Marshal has found that the cause of the fire is undetermined.  He commented that the fire started in the upper level attic near the rear of the building, but how the fire started was hard to pinpoint.

The case has now been turned over to the owners and their insurance company.
