It has been a productive year at David’s Courage where officials there are assisting those who are seeking a life outside of drugs and alcohol.
Co-founder and David’s Courage Board President Gregg Erickson stated in a news release that programs not only focus on a person’s sobriety, but they build up a person that allows he or she to create lasting mentorship connections, find work, learn life skills, reunite with family members, and walk on a Christian path.
Erickson touted the efforts of Adam who is a resident at David’s Courage. Adam is 11 months sober and recently made the effort to get his Driver’s License and buy a car, all of which are significant accomplishments for him.
Additionally, David’s Courage is giving back to the community. Erickson commented that they have helped with a new church extension, assisted with community food distributions, found jobs for residents, and many other activities including witnessing the first baptism.
Everyone at David’s Courage hopes to have a celebration open house once COVID-19 guidelines allow for that activity.
Until then, they are engaged in a fundraiser to gather $11,000 in 11 days with funds to go toward the application for the CARF certification. The paperwork is ready and they are prepared for the site inspection, but $11,000 needs to be gathered by Friday, December 11 in order to apply.
