Bourbon Town Council Considers Salary Ordinance, Custodian Contract

Bourbon Town Council members Ward Byers, Terry Clemens, and Les McFarland

The Bourbon Town Council members reviewed the 2021 salary ordinance during their meeting last week.

Council President Ward Byers noted that the salary ordinance includes a one percent pay raise for all town employees for 2021.  The town council members approved the ordinance with a unanimous vote.

The council members also looked a temporary custodian contract prepared by Town Attorney Alex Hoover.  The agreement would be between the town and Heather Chupp for custodian duties at the Matchett Center, park pavilion and restrooms, and Town Hall.

Three people used to complete these duties, but it would be down to one independent contractor with the same annual compensation of $9,000.

The council members unanimously approved the contract.  It is in effect now through December 8, 2021.
