The Bourbon Town Council members approved the purchase of needed hoses and nozzles requested by Fire Chief Mike Chapman.
Chapman asked for $3,500 to purchase flat hoses and nozzles which will come from the equipment line item in the Fire Department budget.
He also asked to purchase a large container for training purposes in the amount of $2,500. Town Council President Ward Byers asked if the unit could be used by the Police Department for continued training as well. Chapman indicated that a partnership between departments could be negotiated to use the structure for training. If that is successful, money could be used from the Police Department’s training fund to properly outfit the structure for both departments.
The council agreed to wait until January to approve a purchase of a container so the departments can come to an agreement on how to use that structure for training.
