Argos Schools Remain Open, Superintendent Reviews Spectator Restrictions

Argos Community School Corporation remains open despite a few students and staff members in quarantine situations.

Superintendent Ned Speicher gave an update to the school board Monday night where he said he hopes that the corporation will continue to provide in-person instruction up until the holiday break.

“Staffing and finding enough staff can sometimes be a challenge in today’s world,” said Speicher.

Speicher said he discussed with the board members winter activities and the protocols put into place concerning spectators at sporting and music events.

“In the main gym we have a maximum of four for immediate family for participants.  Other than immediate family of the players or participants and essential school personnel, that’s all that’s allowed.  In our smaller gym, like our middle school gym, it’s immediate family with a maximum of two for the participants until further notice.  They need to mask and they need to stay socially distanced, but we are staying open.”

Speicher said the attendance limitations may be adjusted based upon recommendations from the Marshall County Health Department.
