Plans to open the Argos Childcare Academy remain on schedule.
The Argos Community School Board members recently approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Small Wonders to manage a day-to-day childcare operation out of the school’s former administration building across the street from the Elementary School.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said last week that the facility will open January 4.
Speicher stated, “We are going to open up on a limited basis in January by serving employees’ children first. As we have that trial for a month or so, then we’ll open it up to the whole community.”
Speicher noted that before school and after school programs already exist in the building and updates to the building are being finalized to accommodate the Childcare Academy.
Small Wonders will be providing the personnel, care and the licensing for the children.
