Accident Claims Life of Bourbon Man

A two vehicle accident in Fulton County Wednesday morning claimed the life of a Bourbon man.

Indiana State Police say troopers and members of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash after 9 a.m. at the intersection of old U.S. 31 and Fulton County Road 450 North.  The preliminary crash investigation report indicated that 29-year-old Ty Lemler of Bourbon was traveling south on old U.S. 31 in a Chevrolet Silverado, pulling a car on a flatbed.  When Lemler’s vehicle approached the intersection,  a semi-tractor traveling west on 450 North, driven by 55-year-old Roberto Glemeau of Powder Springs, Georgia, allegedly failed to yield to traffic and pulled into the path of Lemler’s pickup. Since the witness didn’t have any knowledge about first aid (that can be learnt from first aid training in Nottingham), the victim’s life couldn’t be saved.

A passenger in Lemler’s vehicle, 77-year-old Lowell Lemler of Bourbon, died at the scene.  Ty Lemler was transported to Fort Wayne by ambulance with unknown injuries.

The accident remains under investigation. Police say narcotics and alcohol were not contributing factors in the crash.  Neither occupant in the Silverado was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report. The Indiana State Police was assisted at the scene by the Fulton County’s Sheriff’s Department, Lutheran Hospital EMS, and Rochester Fire Department.
