Members of the American Legion, VFW, and DAV, will host a Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, November 11 at 11 a.m. on the Marshall County Courthouse lawn.
Plymouth Assistant Police Chief Mark Owen will be this year’s keynote speaker. According to information provided by the Plymouth Mayor’s office, Owen served with the United States Air Force from November 1988 until November 1992. He earned the rank of an E-4 Senior Airman and he served as a Security Police Specialist. Owen served in Texas, Louisiana, and Korea. While serving, he was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Owen has worked as an officer on the Plymouth City Police Department for the last 26 years.
Plymouth Church of the Brethren Pastor Tom Anders will provide prayer and Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter will honor the men and women who bravely served our country.
All are welcome to attend the service. Officials ask that attendees wear a mask during the ceremony and maintain a social distance. Center Street and Jefferson Street will be closed to accommodate the service.
The program will be aired live on MAX 98.3 FM.
