A large number of positive COVID-19 cases were reported locally in Monday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.
Marshall County saw an increase of 54 new cases while Starke County saw 22 and Pulaski County had five. Marshall County now has a total of 1,695 cases, Starke County has a total of 552 cases and Pulaski County is at 203 cases. Those are reflective of all cases reported since the beginning of the pandemic.
Another 3,080 residents in the state have tested positive for COVID-19, which brings the state’s total to 185,185 cases. According to the Regenstrief Institute, 23 percent of COVID-19 patients are fighting the virus statewide.
A total of 4,150 have died from COVID-19, an increase of 26 from Sunday’s report.
On the school dashboard on the Indiana Department of Health’s website, 865 new student positive cases were reported in the state last week with 204 positive teacher cases and 255 new staff positive cases. The numbers do not include all schools in the state as not all of them are reporting to the Indiana Department of Health, and the numbers do not include virtual students.
