Starke County and Marshall County health officials reported one more COVID-19 death in each county, according to Sunday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.
That is the sixth COVID-19 death in a week in Marshall County while Starke County has had three COVID-19 deaths in the last week.
The Indiana Department of Health said 5,040 people in the state have died of COVID-19 since March and 48 of those were reported on Sunday.
Another 6,255 people in the state have tested positive for COVID-19, including 40 new cases in Marshall County, six in Starke County and five in Pulaski County.
The seven-day positivity rate in unique individuals in Marshall County is 32.4 percent. Starke County’s rate is 23.4 percent and Pulaski County’s rate is 18.7 percent.
The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients is 3,144, a slight decrease from Saturday’s report.
