More 4,000 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Indiana Thursday

The Indiana Department of Health announced Thursday that 4,462 additional residents in the state have tested positive for COVID-19 to increase the overall total number of cases in the state to 196,176. 

Another 45 people have died from COVID-19 in the state to increase the total number of confirmed deaths to 4,269.  One of those deaths was reported in Pulaski County in Thursday’s information from the Indiana Department of Health. 

Marshall County’s case count increased by 19 on Thursday for a new total of 1,796 positive COVID-19 cases. Starke County had another 14 cases to increase the overall total to 587, and Pulaski County reported eight new cases for a new overall total of 226. 

The seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals in Marshall County is 20.7 percent, Starke County is 24.9 percent and Pulaski County is 11.9 percent. 

Nearly 1,950 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized and account for 26.3 percent of ICU beds in Indiana’s hospitals.
