There are 83 new positive COVID-19 cases in Marshall County, according to Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.
Starke County reported three new COVID-19 deaths along with 26 additional positive cases while Pulaski County reported five new positive cases.
All three counties are now at the orange level on the state’s color coded map which means a moderate community spread of COVID-19. Indiana Department of Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lindsay Weaver previously explained that the Indiana Department of Health will communicate with the local Health Departments, health providers, schools, elected officials, and other key stakeholders to discuss conditions and actions. It is at this level where social gatherings are restricted.
There are nine counties in the state that are in the red which indicates a high community spread of COVID-19 with the closest counties being Newton County and LaGrange County.
At the state level, there were 5,156 additional residents in the state who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. An additional 31 people have died from the novel coronavirus in Wednesday’s report.
