The Indiana State Department of Health announced Tuesday that another 63 people have died from COVID-19 in Indiana, including one person from Starke County.
Thirteen people have now died from COVID-19 in Starke County since March, 33 people have died in Marshall County and 10 people have died from the coronavirus in Pulaski County.
An additional 4,879 Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state with 55 new cases in Marshall County, 13 new cases in Starke County and 14 new cases in Pulaski County.
Statistics from the Regenstrief Institute indicate that 27 percent of those with COVID-19 in the state are actively fighting the virus while 70 percent have recovered.
Health officials, along with county and municipal officials, are asking residents to keep following the guidelines of the CDC and the Indiana Department of Health with wearing a mask over the nose and mouth while in public, wash hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds at a time, and keep a social distance of six feet from people outside of the household in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
