The Culver Community Schools Corporation plans to continue with virtual learning next week. In her weekly update to students and families, Superintendent Karen Shuman said there are still eight staff members waiting for COVID-19 test results, after coming into contact with a known positive.
She said the plan is to continue with online instruction through December 4, although that could be shortened depending on how many tests come back negative. Classes will be held between 10:00 a.m. and 3:12 p.m. EST, with elementary classes ending at 3:00.
Preschool will remain open, and vocational students will still be transported to Knox. Extracurricular events will continue as scheduled, but at 25 percent spectator capacity, as required by Governor Holcomb’s executive order. The school corporation will also deliver food to families who fill out an online survey by Saturday.
Shuman says the attendance rate has dropped to about 90 percent at Culver Elementary School and just over 92 percent at Culver Community Middle/High School.
