Argos School Superintendent Provides COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 seems to be creating issues as the year continues and causing many schools to consult with local health departments on recommendations on how to provide instruction to students while maintaining a healthy environment.

Argos Community School Superintendent Ned Speicher said at Argos schools it is a daily struggle.

“Actually, our numbers aren’t as bas as they were a few weeks ago, but I can’t say that’s true of our county right now,” stated Speicher.  “We’re closely following that with the Health Department.  At the present time, we only have one positive student that’s out, but we have quite a few students that are quarantined because of their family, or close contacts outside of school.  We’re seeing mostly the community which is really impacting us with the quarantines.  Having staff out that’s quarantined makes it hard finding enough subs. So, those are some of our daily struggles.”

So far, the school corporation remains open to in-person instruction, but school officials ask that everyone do what is necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Marshall County communities.
