Another COVID-19 Death Reported in Starke County, Positivity Rates Continue Moving Lower

Another COVID-19 death has been reported in Starke County. The death occurred Monday, according to Friday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the total number of Starke County residents who’ve died while positive for COVID-19 to 22.

The county also reported another 10 positive cases, for a total of 950. Another 38 Marshall County residents tested positive, bringing the total to 3,118, while Pulaski County had seven new positive cases for a total of 418. The state-calculated seven-day positivity rates continue to improve in all three counties, with Starke County at 10.7 percent, Marshall County at 7.5 percent, and Pulaski County at 9.2 percent for all tests.

The number of Hoosiers hospitalized for COVID-19 dropped by almost 100 on Thanksgiving Day, to 3,287. The state as a whole reported 5,700 new cases Friday, for a new total of 324,537. Another 33 Hoosiers have died, bringing the total confirmed death count to 5,328. The number of Hoosiers who are believed to have died as a result of COVID-19 but didn’t have a positive test is at 266.
