A candidate was selected in a Republican Party Caucus Monday night to fill the unexpired term of Bourbon Town Councilman PJ Hanley.
Hanley announced on October 13 that he was stepping down from his position on the Bourbon Town Council after a decade of service.
Marshall County Republican Chairman David Holmes said three candidates submitted a declaration of candidacy to fill the seat including Terry Clemens, Andrew Westafer and Spencer Standley. After all three candidates spoke, a vote was taken with the two precinct committeemen allowed to vote and selected Clemens as the new Bourbon Town Council member.
Clemens was sworn into office and will attend his first council meeting on Tuesday, November 10.
