Marshall County Health Officer Recommends No Patient Visitation at Long-Term Care Facilities

Marshall County Health Officer Dr. Byron Holm recently issued a recommendation that patient visitation should not occur in long-term care facilities across Marshall County.

In a press release issued Wednesday, Dr. Holm believes that protection of the most vulnerable population is the focus during this pandemic.  Health officials believe it is necessary to keep facilities, residents and staff safe.

This recommendation is in place until further notice.

Additionally, Dr. Holm and the Marshall County Health Department continue to review the county’s positive COVID-19 cases, rate of positivity, and community spread.

They remind residents that Governor Holcomb extended the mask mandate and urge residents to follow the guidance.  They also recommend a six-foot social distance, washing hands frequently throughout the day at least 20 seconds at a time using soap and water, and stay home if sick.
