The John Glenn School Board members held a public hearing over the tentative agreement on the Master Teacher Contract for 2020-2021 Tuesday night.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell said $700 was added to the base salary and a $500 one-time stipend was approved for teachers. One sick day was added to the agreement and adjustments to ECA wording.
Winchell said there were no public comments given on the agreement. The board will be set to approve that tentative agreement during their next meeting on Tuesday, November 10.
The school board also approved the Capital Projects Plan and Bus Replacement Plan for the next few years.
The transportation director plans to purchase two new buses in 2021. They will be replacing a 66-passenger bus and a 33-passenger bus for about $230,000.
The Capital Projects Plan for 2021 through 2023 includes roof repairs at all schools, gym floor sanding and painting at Urey Middle School, restroom improvements at Urey Middle School, concession stand improvements at the Walkerton Elementary School, a new football field scoreboard, a new key FOB system at all buildings, and an LED lighting upgrade at John Glenn High School. Other capital expenditures include software licensing, copier leasing and maintenance, a new mower and vehicle for the Maintenance Department, and new coolers at Walkerton Elementary and North Liberty Elementary Schools.
