The Indiana Department of Health announced Thursday that 3,649 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, driving the overall total number of cases in the state to 172,730.
Health officials did note that a historic load of negative labs resulted in the addition of 148 historical tested individuals and 1,351 historical tests administered to today’s counts.
Twenty new COVID-19 cases were reported in both Marshall County and in Starke County and another six cases in Pulaski County.
The seven-day positivity rate in unique individuals in Marshall County is over 20 percent, while it is nearly 18 percent in Starke County and just over seven percent in Pulaski County.
St. Joseph County is reporting over 10,000 total cases, La Porte County has 2,488, Fulton County had 415 total cases, and Kosciusko County has 2,195.
The state also reported 33 additional COVID-19 deaths, but no new deaths occurred in the tri-county area.
