The Indiana Department of Health announced Friday that 1,832 additional Indiana residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing. That is the highest single-day increase of cases recorded to date.
Marshall County also logged a large increase in COVID-19 cases with 18 new cases on Friday pushing the total number of COVID-19 cases to date to 1,123. Starke County saw an increase of eight cases for a new cumulative total COVID-19 case count of 315, and Pulaski County saw an increase of two cases for a new overall total of 119.
Another 19 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19, according to Friday’s report.
Local health officials encourage residents to wear masks when possible and continue a rigorous hand-washing practice, use hand sanitizer, and wipe down frequently touched areas with antibacterial wipes or cleaning solution when possible.
To date, 1,463,436 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana. A total of 2,276,846 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since February 26.
