Grant to Support Meat Processing Plants in Indiana

Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch announced last week that a new grant is available to support meat processing plants in Indiana made available by the Indiana State Department of Agriculture.

Crouch explained $4 million in CARES Act funding has been allocated to the Indiana Meat Processing, Expansion and Development Grant program to improve the food supply chain, expand processing capacity and promote worker safety.

“This is a 50 percent matching grant program with the maximum amount capped at $150,000,” said Crouch.  “Grants will cover eligible costs incurred between March 1 and December 30 due to COVID-19.  Funding is available for existing processing businesses that employ 500 or less employees.”
